DC Next Bus App Reviews

This app used to estimate next bus very well. But unfortunately now it is not precise at all, I have to delete it although I have had it for over a year:(

The nextbus app was awesome but they deleted it!

Sorry but a disappointing app!

Now that the NextBus lite app is dead, I find myself having to use this inaccurate, frustrating app. No maps either. I hope nextbus comes back even though that wasnt perfect either.

Runs better than the other lite next bus by leaps and bounds

Just this morning showed three separate buses were coming which never showed up. Much less accurate than the old nextbus dc app. I find the map format annoying as well. You cant search for stops on a certain bus route, so its only helpful if you already know where the bus goes.

Never accurate. Not worth the money. I miss the old NextBus app.

Last year I downloaded this app and it was great but after several updates it keeps getting worse, the times are never right anymore.

Love it!! Im not at the bus stop waiting wondering where the bus is. I kno if its late and can leave the house accordingly!!

This app is ALWAYS right on with bus and metro arrivals. I like how you pull up the times in the map screen, instead of having to go to a separate screen altogether. Great app.

its not accurate at all.

After the most recent update, this app has met every single one of my most wanted features for a Metrobus tracking app. In addition to bus routes that are available by selecting a stop and then touching one of the route numbers overlaid on the side of the screen, the app now allows you to store favorite bus stops as well. Overall usage is intuitive and the ability to check arrival times for stops outside of your immediate vicinity is a huge boon. Hint: use the "last updated" button to refresh arrival times or look for bus stops in a different area of the map. The app also shows arrival times for Metro trains. Ignore the reviews complaining about inaccurate times; that is not the apps fault. The blame lies with WMATAs crappy info. Youd run into the same problems by calling into NextBus since the data source is the same.

Clearly shows bus stops on map with GPS. Then which busses are next with estimated wait in minutes. Love it! Still trouble getting MD Ride On

Adding bus route mapping and the ability to save favorite stops has bumped this up to a 4 for me, The predictions still have problems, and there has been a stop with no info for months, but the developer explained to me that this data comes straight from wmata. That brings me to an important point: I have never dealt with a more responsive and responsible developer. Not everything is perfect but he worked hard to understand my concerns, deal with them, and follow up with me on his progress. Fantastic and unfortunately rare.

I like this app a lot, but routes are off (L2) and lots of stops dont work (Conn & L northbound) and (Conn & 17th Northbound.)

Doesnt support the bus in the Maryland area

It has not been updated recently so its transit predictions are off so much that it is pretty much useless. If you have a 20 minute window then it is helpful, but if not it is better to just guess.

It used to work fine, but the redesigned app is useless. It only shows stops within a block or so of where I am so I cant get info to help me decide which stop will be better for me. Cant find a way to favorite multiple route so that I can tap that to look at the two routes I want and decide which to take. Hate it.

The other reviewers have legit complaints. It is difficult, and sometimes impossible, to get data for a given stop, and the route information is not current. However, the arrival data has been satisfactory. It is difficult to know which problems are specific to this app and which are due to the DC Metro system. I find the app useful despite these issues.
